Your responsibilities

As a member of the Technology practice team, you will primarily be responsible for struc­tur­ing, draft­ing and nego­ti­at­ing  within IP and ICT law but also broader commercial law (such as commercial contracts, General terms and conditions, legal framework for launching products, etc). You will be engaged on highly challenging cases related to a vari­ety of Intel­lec­tu­al Property, ICT and com­mer­cial trans­ac­tions, includ­ing the draft­ing of licens­ing, (co)-development, e-com­merce, ser­vice, dis­tri­b­u­tion and part­ner­ship agree­ments in var­i­ous fields.

Besides that, you will also focus on the contractual outlining and nego­ti­at­ing of var­i­ous IP mon­e­ti­za­tion deals, of ecosys­tems focus­ing on co-cre­ation and co-devel­op­ment of new tech­nolo­gies. Furthermore, you will have close client contact and provide in-house guidance for clients.

This role combines in-depth Intellectual Property and ICT expertise with a strong focus on the transactional side. You will be part of the further expansion of the technology department in the coming years. You continuously focus on providing the highest quality, both on a content-legal level as in terms of service. You are not only in direct contact with your clients, you also understanding their specific context and legal needs. You are a true business partner.

Your profile

You are a Mid-level or Senior Associate with at least 4 years of experience in IP & ICT transactions.

You have a Belgian Master Degree in Law with excellent academic results.

You have outstanding contract drafting skills and an expertise mainly focusing on IP, ICT, licensing, patents, copyright laws, open source and more general commercial law.

You have an excellent command of English with a native level of Dutch or French.

You have a keen interest in highly stimulating emerging, technology & innovative sectors.

You have a down to earth mindset and are eager to further develop your career in an entrepreneurial and fast paced environment.
